Sunset Hike - Kfardebiane Faraya Sunset Hike! - Keserwan District
Nothing could be better than watching the sunset from a very high hill where the new statue of St.Charbel stands.

Faraya will be our destination where we will hike on a moderate level all together to reach the new 23 meter high statue of St. Charbel, inaugurated on the 14th of September 2017.

We will start our hike in the Jurd of Kfardebian where beautiful sceneries can be seen. The hike will be a moderate one with some uphill.

Once we reach the top, we will witness one of the most amazing views in the area. From one side we will see “Chabrouh” dam and on the other side we will watch the sun setting on the sea horizon, all under the shades of the huge “Chabrouh” cross and St. Charbel statue.

Hiking Trip - Baloua Baatara Douma - Batroun District
Balaa is very famous for its 250 meters deep natural sink-hole that has been carved by water 160 million years ago! A magnificent waterfall can be observed during winter and spring with water vapors rising up to the surface. The importance of Baloo Batara has spread beyond the Lebanese borders. Baloo Balaa is a natural pothole with three separate natural bridges inside it. This natural beauty is a must to see.

Our hike will start from the Baloo. You will have enough time to see this magnificent place, take pictures and walk around it.
From there you will walk along a trail that starts uphill. It will be a LEVEL 6 hike. The uphill is steep but not long. It will soon become downhill and flat. The views are great, overlooking Douma and its surroundings.

Hiking Trip - Bisri - Jezzine & Saida District
It’s one of the most beautiful hikes that will leave wonderful pictures in your memory. BISRI. A hike along the riverbank of Bisri means water streams to be crossed, tall tree forests to be traversed, and breathtaking views to be remembered forever.

Bisri River is a part of Awwali River. It separates Mount Lebanon from the South.
The nature at this time of year is ideal. The water level in the river is strong enough, and the walk beside it is just what we need!

The hike will be three levels; LEVEL 2, 4 and LEVEL 5.
LEVEL 2 (6km) and Level 4 (14km) will walk along the riverbank, having enough time to contemplate scenery and take pictures. It will be easy, with minor ascents and descents.
LEVEL 5 (12km) will have more challenging trails, with some uphill.

Hiking Trip - Bsetine El Ossi - Batroun District
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Lebanon is what we are going to see this Saturday! It’s the waterfalls of ‘Bsetine el Ossi’. Don’t miss it.

Kafarhilda is a long, narrow town running along the hillside of the rich agricultural valley of the same name and is known for its pleasant outdoor restaurants. Scattered around the village are the ruins of many monasteries and churches.

On the road of Kfarhilda is a springtime waterfall on Nahr el Jawz. A pretty valley known as "Bsetine el Ossi", near the falls, is ideal for hiking.
This hike will be a one level hike (level 5). The hike will be mostly beside a stream.
You will enjoy the sound of rushing water along the track. The beginning of the hike is all downhill. The end is an uphill trail.

JABAL MOUSSA

Standing on the shoulders of the slopes of Mount Lebanon Chain facing the Mediterranean Sea, Jabal Moussa reserve is considered one of the wildest unspoiled areas of Lebanon. Fortunately enough, it has been recently protected by municipal laws.

The reserve is renowned for enclosing the historic Adonis Valley and its ancient agricultural patios, historical trails dating back to the Roman era.

Hiking Trip - Jurd Kfardebian - Keserwan District
A unique combination of hiking, sun-bathing in the snow, and picnicking is what is waiting for you this coming Saturday.

Kfardebian is the town of all seasons and the capital of mountain tourism in Lebanon. Comfortably situated in the heights of Keserwan, Kfardebian derives its name from the Semitic language, and it may be originated in the Syriac language, meaning “The Town of Deers”. Rising between 900 to well above 2000 meters, and spanning over an area of roughly 40 Square Kilometers, it is one of the largest towns in Lebanon.

This trail will be a beautiful and remote one. We will walk alongside the routes that the skiers take by ski lifts in the winter.

Hking Trip - Serel Aito - Zgharta District
Aito village lies on four hills: "Jabal Aito (El Aren), El Alama, Dnit, and Kanissa Hill. It is one of the first villages in Casa Zgharta.

The name of Aito is translated as' Summer Resort "in Syriac, in reference to its location on an elevation relatively close to the coast.
Aito is famous for its horn-like structure cut into rocks, known as the Qarn (Horn) of Aito.
Aito's landscape is rocky, with forests of trees growing between the rocks. The town has some old ruins, such as an old tower and a temple. Above the temple stands the Monastery of Saint Simon (Al Amoudi) indicating that this land was a Phoenician place of worship. A completely submerged sarcophagus cut into rocks was discovered in Aito and has been deemed very important by researchers.

Hiking Trip - Mar Antonios - Kozhaya - Ehden District Qadisha
Our visit this time to the “Holy Valley” will be mainly focused around one of the most important monastery in the valley, Mar Antonios Kozhaya.
“Kozhaya” originates from Syriac meaning "the treasure of Life".

The Monastery is located at 950 meters above sea level and was built at the beginning of the fourth century. Despite being looted, set on fire and demolished, some vestiges dating back to the seventh century still remain.
In 1993, the Monastery was reestablished. In 1994 the great underground basement was restored and now serves as a museum where the printing press of 1783 and various manuscripts, liturgical objects, ancient pottery, and a crozier offered by Louis IX, King of France (1226-1270) are still maintained.

Walking among beautiful sceneries, you will visit the old mills and see how wheat used to be grinded in Chebaa’s water mills. Then you will get to pass through cherry orchards, tasting delicious cherries along the way, until you get to ‘Nabeh el Mghara’.
A visit to ‘Nabeh Ain el Jawz’ is also on the schedule.

A traditional Lebanese lunch in a small restaurant at ‘Nabeh el Jawz’ would be a great idea to relax and listen to the sound of water.

Rafting - Rafting Al Assi - Hermel District
This time it will be a one day trip to Assi River for rafting. The drive is quite long, but it’s worth every minute of it!
We will stop on our way to visit Mar Maroun Cave, the source of Assi River and the Ammoua in Hermel.

Once you get to Assi, a short presentation on the basics of rafting will be presented. You will be given the necessary equipment (helmet, oars, life jacket). Each raft will carry around 6 to 8 passengers accompanied by a professional coach. Then off you go to experience a wild adventure in the river! The ride is long; you will follow the white stream and cross three or more waterfalls that will pump high your adrenaline! You will surely get wet so leave your phone and camera on land.
After this ride, you will rest and have lunch (trout and regional specialties).

Then you will descend the staircase to reach the Historical Access. From there, you will head to The New Bath, then to Mansouri Mosque, to the Jewelry Souk, Gypsy Bath (Hammam el Nouri), Khan el Saboun, then back to the Historical Path in order to reach to The Taylor’s Khan (Khan el Khayyateen) and The Egyptian Khan (Khan el Masriyyeen).

Hiking Trip - Darb El Sama & Darb El Amar - Keserwan District
It will be an opportunity to visit Harissa before May comes to an end. Join us on Saturday the 26th for a unique hike all the way from Sahel Alma to Harissa (Darb el Sama) then will be back from Antoura (Darb el Kamar)

This hike will be two Levels 3 & 5 uphill & downhill. However, we will go to Harissa and back following two paths:
- The first trail, known as “Darb el Sama”, is quite steep but not very long. We will start walking from Sahel Alma, and reach Harissa through Ghadir. There will be a steep 500 meters uphill and the walk will last around 4 hours 12 km, with spectacular views along the way. Then will take the second trail level 3 will start from there, known as Darb el Qamar”, is quite suitable for those who would like to join the hike following an easy trail.

Day on the Beach - Palm Island - Tripoli District
Otherwise known as “Palms Island”, “Jazeeret al Araneb” is a seasonally public island located facing Al Mina city in North. The island is a reserve that is closed for 9 months of the year keeping room for natural life balance, as water turtles come and lay their eggs on this island during winter season.
On our way, we will stop for breakfast in Al Mina city for a delicious traditional breakfast at “Al Sabbagh Sweets” before taking the boat to the island.
After taking our time on the island, we will return back to the land and visit Borj el Sbaa in Tripoli and the old train station. Or we will make a quick tour in Al Mina city to see its major attractions namely old souks, mosques and churches
The city is an amazing one enclosing plenty of historical sites and cultural spots.

Hiking El Wazzani!

Join Vamos Todos to venture into the extreme south…at the borders. It is perfectly safe, a land full of life, rich in plantations, restaurants and resorts.
You will see (what once we thought unfeasible) the Golan Heights, Ghajar, Bawwabet Fatme and Al Wazzani.
You will also see some stone protection blocks built during the Turkish era.

Ghajar is an Alawite village on the Hasbani River on the border between Lebanon and the Israeli-occupied area of the Golan Heights. It has a population of 2,000. In an attempt to distinguish permanent borders between the occupied land and Lebanon, the United Nations drew up what became known as the Blue Line.

Vamos Todos, in collaboration with the Municipality of Khenchara Al-Jwar and Caritas Lebanon, is organizing an extremely diversified event in Metn area, specifically in Khenchara and Al-Jwar villages on “DROUBNA Trails” BALADI project. The project is an eco-tourism project funded by USAID and implemented by Caritas Lebanon, and consists of four trails that enable visitors to explore the culture and heritage of Khenchara and Al-Jwar villages rich in springs, small museums, wineries and churches.

We have chosen Khenchara – name meaning “The House of Silk” – for it is one of the most amazing, diversified villages of Metn. This event will be a combination of hiking, cultural and historical visits and wine tasting.

Hiking Trip - Annoubine - Dimane - Annoubine
Qadisha Valley lies within the Becharre and Zgharta Districts of the North Governate of Lebanon.
This Holy valley is a deep gorge carved by Qadisha River, also known as Nahr Abu Ali once reaches Tripoli.
Qadisha means "Holy" in Aramaic, and the valley, sometimes called the Holy Valley, has sheltered Christian monastic communities for many centuries.

Filled with caves and rock shelters inhabited from the third millennium B.C. to the Roman period, the valley is scattered with cave chapels, hermitages and monasteries cut from rock.
The whole valley with its cave churches is inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
There are around 13 different trails in this holy valley.

We will visit Deir Saidet Annoubine, St. Marina, Deir Mar Licha passing through Dimane, depending on the level of the hike.

Day on the Beach - Tyre Tour - Tyre District
We are heading to the beautiful white sandy coast of Tyre. It is one of the most beautiful shores in Lebanon making it a perfect destination for water turtles to lay eggs in winter season, the reason behind classifying part of the coast as a natural reserve in 1998.

It comprises a sandy beach; fresh water springs and agricultural land. Water from the springs creates a mixed fresh water/salt water environment and the area is an important nesting site for sea turtles.

Our day will start with a boat ride in sea where you will see a small island facing Tyre. You will have a clear view of all the ancient ruins and the city from the coastal line.

We will then do a small tour inside the beautiful old streets of Tyre and visit underground Roman ruins located directly under the Catholic Archdiocese of Tyre.

Hiking Trip - Rachaya al Wadi - Rachaya District
Rachaya el Wadi is a town of heritage and history. It is renowned for enclosing many old monuments, essentially the Citadel of Independence. In this amazing village you can also find the oldest church in the region, Mar Moussa al Habashi, a Syriac-Catholic church.

Standing on the foothills of “Jabal EL Cheikh” or “Hermon Mountain”, Rachaya el Wadi is distinguished for its old red-tile-roofed stone houses that have survived the most difficult and relevant phases of the Lebanese history.

Our hike in Rachaya El Wadi will be divided into two levels, Level 3 & 5 which will start all together on “Emm Chratit” tree, where you can hang your wish and take a tour in the village to see its most relevant sites such as the public garden, the old souk, the orthodox monastery, the citadel of independence and the old syriac-catholic church.

Sunset Hike - Anfeh Sunset Hike - Koura District
Come and experience the pleasant moments of hiking at the coast, while watching the beautiful summer sunset.
This hike is a unique one, blending together the beauty of nature and historical ruins.

We will start our hike from Horshieh, where a very cozy path among olive trees will lead us to a small church called Saidet el Khrayeb. We will then continue among the olive trees until we start seeing the sea. The track will then lead to Anfeh, an old village rich in ruins and caves.

There, you will visit a very old Byzantine church among other historical monuments. The Citadel of Anfeh will be an important stopover in our program.

The citadel is considered a Crusader remain, but it was an important place for many other civilizations.

Hiking Trip - Mazraat Chouf! - Chouf District
On Saturday, we will be going to an extremely beautiful trail. Our steps will take us from Mazraet el Chouf to Amatour in the Chouf region.

During the hike, we will see very old olive trees, as well as wonderful views of Marj Bisri and the whole valley. In addition, we will have the chance to cross Roman stairs and go across a Roman passage of striking beauty inside the cliff. We will also walk on an old bridge above Al Barouk River, and follow a beautiful trail, among mesmerizing scenery, until we reach Amatour.

This is a level 4/5 event, during which we will walk for an 11 km distance.

Hiking Trip - Qadisha Valley Freidis - Ehden & Bcahrre District
Qadisha, one of the deepest and most beautiful valleys in Lebanon, is indeed a world of its own. At the bottom of this wild steep-sided gorge runs the Qadisha River whose source is in the Qadisha Grotto at the foot of the Cedars.

The word Qadisha comes from a Semitic root meaning "holy" and Wadi Qadisha is the "Holy Valley." Filled with caves and rock shelters inhabited from the third millennium B.C. to the Roman period, the valley is scattered with cave chapels, hermitages and monasteries cut from rock.

The whole valley with its cave churches is inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
This time, we will visit Deir Saidet Annoubine, St. Marina, Deir Mar Licha, Saidet Hawka, and Mar Aboun.

Hiking Trip - Hadath Jebbeh Knisit Rab - Becharreh District
Vamos Todos will start a series of events just for the challenge lovers who are always up for adventures and hikes at hard levels! You should be fit enough and fully prepared if you would like to join such events!

We will start our event in Hadath el-Jebbeh, ascending towards the peak of the mountain. This is where you will get the chance to see an ancient church known by the name of the Church of the Lord. The view is panoramic from up there offering breathtaking landscapes.

The trail (Level 7) is extended on over 850 meters uphill towards the peak and the same as downhill. The trail is long (17km) but it is worth every minute of it. You should have the lunch packed with you as we are going to have a break once on the top of the mountain.

This time, we will hike from Kaa Al Rim to Zahle, in an event fully organized and coordinated by Vamos Todos.

Kaa El Rim is located in the Bekaa valley, at about 54 kilometers from Beirut. Zahle is the capital and largest city of the Bekaa Governorate. It is known as the "Bride of the Bekaa" and "the Neighbor of the Gorge" due to its geographical location and attractiveness, but also as "the City of Wine and Poetry". It is famous throughout Lebanon and the region for its pleasant climate, numerous riverside restaurants and quality arak.

Cherry Picking Akoura - Cherry Picking! - Akoura
Although it has not been long since we have been to Akoura, yet this time our visit has a different flavor, literally. We have hiked many times in the beautiful region of Akoura, now we are heading to the village for a different cause: Cherry Picking!

We will leave Beirut, as usual, in the early morning and head to the home of Philippe Germanos, one of the prominent individuals of the region. He will guide us through his land, and we will get to spend the day picking cherries in an atmosphere of friendliness and good vibes. The cherries of the Akoura area are famous for being some of the best quality cherries in Lebanon.

Of course, each of us will get to take with him a limited amount of cherries from those he picked, as a token of gratitude from Mr. Germanos, and nature itself.

Mount Sannine is the third highest peak in Lebanon reaching 2,628m above sea level at its highest point. It is located in the exact center of Lebanon overlooking the whole country from all its side.
Sannine is the source of many water springs and has an extreme base of limestone

We will start our day in Al Chakhroub area to visit Mikhael Neame’s mausoleum, the famous Lebanese writer and poet from Baskinta

We will then head to Mount Sannine to start our hike which will be divided into three levels.
Level 2 – will head directly to plateau located between the mountains where hundreds of shepherds bring their sheep.

The reserve lies on 1850m of altitude and offers charming views. From there you can see the top three highest peaks in Lebanon: Kornet al Sawda, Jabal el Cheikh and Sannine

Sunset can’t be more magical except if we spend it on a top of a hill overlooking a beautiful scenery. This time we are heading to Laqlouq to witness this fascinating phenomenon.

Our hike will be divided into 2 levels
Level 2 – will be an easy hike starting by visiting “Saydet al Arn” where beautiful scenery can be seen from the surroundings. They will have the time to take picture and enjoy the views of the lakes of Laqlouq

Level 4 – Will start the hike on a beautiful moderate uphill track leading us to “Saydet al Arn” to meet with the easy level.

Hiking Trip - Deir Mimas - Marjayoun District
Deir Mimas. The name is derived by Saint Mamas, a shepherd that used to preach Christianity in the third century accompanied by his lion as a protector. In the middle ages, a monastery was built in his honor on the top of a hill. With time and ages, people started to come and live next to this convent creating a small village that was later on called Deir Mimas

In 2006, during the most recent war, the convent was destroyed and rebuilt directly after the war ended.
Deir Mimas stands on a hill overlooking the Litani River and the medieval Beaufort Castle to the west, and the summits of Mount Hermon to the east

The village comprises two water mills, 500 years old olive trees creating beautiful trails among them and ancient bridges.

Wadi Jhannam….The Valley of Hell…the name is quite frightening, but in fact it is heaven on earth.
Otherwise known as “Wadi al Zouhour” or “Wadi Kmamine”, this valley is among the most beautiful valleys in Lebanon. Wadi Jhanam includes endless sources of water and the majority of its amazing landscapes. It is full of greenery, dense trees, wonderful views, and lots of water. River Mousa flows with such vigor, that you can hear it all throughout the valley.

The path will be mostly by the river bank, and so you will never feel the heat of the sun.
This hike is ideal in the summer season. The trees provide lots of shade, and the river cools down the temperature.

Wadi Jhannam is in Donniyyeh district, but it is reached from Akkar.

Our guide this time will be the moonlight!

Starting from the hills of Lassa heading to Afka, we will hike in a relaxed setting lit by moonlight and perfumed by the calmness of nature
We have chosen this specific time of the month as the moon would be in its full shape to enlighten our trail adding value to this amazing walk
We will be hiking on an easy trail of around 8km with no major ascents among old juniper trees.

Such hike cannot be perfected except with some manakish on saj and tea prepared by locals. This will boost our energy to continue our beautiful hike

Night & Sunrise Hike - Kornet Sawda Night & Sunrise - Becharreh District
We will hike to the highest peak in Lebanon and the region at night guided by moonlight and watch the sun rising from an altitude of 3,089 m!

The hike is a tough one but we have an easier option for those who would like to enjoy the ride. We will be divided into two levels

Level 7 around 21 km long mostly uphill. We will start from Dahr el Adeeb and go upwards on a bare trail. We will continue until we reach the peak

If you prefer an easier hike there is the possibility to take a lift in a pick-up to reduce a third of the path. Then you will meet with level 7 and continue the journey. The pick-up will accompany us along the way in case of need. It will be a Level 3 - 4 hike

We will reach the summit at sunrise time.

Our monthly wine tours have been one of our most sought after events of every month. But this time, we thought we would add a little twist to our wine tour and make it just a little different. You will have the chance to indulge in both wine and arak tasting.

Arak, also called ‘the milk of lions’, is the national alcoholic drink of Lebanon. It is given this nick-name because of its highly potent character. This colorless spirit is anis flavored, and turns to a milky-white liquid after water and/or ice are added. It is much sought after by those who indulge in good food, good mood and the Mediterranean joie de vivre.

In this event, we will visit three important Wine & Arak factories.

Hiking Trip - Ayoun Samak - Doniyeh District
We are heading “Oyoun el Samak” one of the most amazing, “unknown” places in Lebanon. Located on the shores of “Nahr el Bared”, the river that separates “Doniyeh” from “Akkar” casa, “Oyoun el Samak” offers endless breathtaking and picturesque views that will leave you in awe.
The name is inspired by the multiple water sources that nourish the river and creates with those masterpiece views.

The area was and still is a major attraction for many artist and singers that filmed their video clips in its beautiful surroundings
It is really a hiking experience that is not to be missed. We have divided our hike into two levels

Level 2 - will be an easy walk along the river bank where we will see a lot of trees all along the shores. We will have enough time to rest, contemplate the beautiful views and take pictures.

Perseid Meteor Shower & Hiking - Kfardebian Camping Perseid Meteor Shower - Keserwan District
Nothing can beat a summer camp in Kfardebian except when Perseid Meteor Shower fall on the same date of our overnight event!

We will be heading to Kfardebian, the highest village in Keserwan district, to witness plenty of natural phenomena. Kfardebian is renowned for being the village of all seasons where the largest ski resort in the Middle East is located and summer festivities make it an unescapable destination.

Similar to every overnight event, you can participate to the whole weekend and witness the meteor showers or only participate in the second day for an unforgettable hike.

Our program will be as follows:

We will head up to a camp site located between the historical volcanic rocks of Kfardebian. You will take some time to settle down and put your stuff in the tents.

Hiking Trip - Annoubine Bcharre - Becharreh District
Qadisha, one of the deepest and most beautiful valleys in Lebanon, is indeed a world of its own. At the bottom of this wild steep-sided gorge runs the Qadisha River whose source is in the Qadisha Grotto at the foot of the Cedars.
The word Qadisha comes from a Syriac root meaning "holy" and Wadi Qadisha is the "Holy Valley." Filled with caves and rock shelters inhabited from the third millennium B.C. to the Roman period, the valley is scattered with cave chapels, hermitages and monasteries cut from rock.

The whole valley with its cave churches is inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
This time, we will visit Deir Saidet Annoubine, St. Marina, Saidet Hawka, and Mar Lichaa.

This is one of the oldest Monasteries in Lebanon.

Hiking Trip - Ammouaa Fnaydik - Akkar District
To better understand the reason behind the name, try to imagine yourself in the middle of funnel shaped landscapes surrounded by a huge variety of trees. This is where we will be heading this time, Ammoua.

Located in the heart of Akkar, Ammoua includes multiple water sources sufficient enough to irrigate most of the surrounding villages in the area

Ammoua is also known for comprising more than 40 kinds of trees, out of which the rare fir trees. It is there where you can find the sole fir or iron oak forest in Lebanon where some trees reach 30 meters high.

Hiking - Shuane Lake - Shuane Lake
The Shuane Lake is located on the river bank of the Ibrahim River, at the north side of Jabal Moussa Reserve. This reserve extends over a large area and offers exquisite views as well as the special flora and fauna that cover about 6,500 hectares. This lake is, by far, one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon.

As always there will be 2 levels; A hard and easy level:
Level 6 (Hard): we will start by going up a steep hill to “Ibri “village then they will proceed downwards from the other side to the Shuane Lake. The trail is composed of 10 km of steep uphill and downhill.

Level 3 (Easy): we will head out directly to the Lake where they can take plenty of photos. The trail will be of 4 km, quite steep but not as long as the hard level’s trail.

Night Hike & Tree-House Dinner - Bmohrei Night Hike & Tree-house - Chouf District
The month has passed by quickly, and we are looking forward to the next night hike under a full moon.
Bmohrei is an area in the Shouf ideal for night hiking. The path is easy and new, winding about in a vast and open space, where the moonlight can shine upon us with all its brightness.

The hike will be one easy level, about 6 km, mainly flat with no ascents.
You will pass beneath the cedar reserve, thus seeing the big trees from a distance.
You will also pass through cherry orchards, where the moonlight will cast interesting shadows among the trees.
Fresh air and a calm atmosphere out in nature is the best way to spend an evening.

Hiking Trip - Arz Karm Mohr & Aicha Fortress - Doniyeh District
Karm El Mohr is a small village situated in caza of Donniyeh in North Lebanon.

The Town of Karm Al Mohr is home to the Aisha Fortress built on the heights of Al Fawwar spring. It is a huge rock carrying the ruins of what used to be an important palace or protection center, overseeing an old road linking the Donniyeh region to Baalbek across the mountains of Kornet el Sawda and Foum el Mizab.
Princess Aisha was the princess of Bchenneta during the 13th century. Aisha Fortress was her summer residence.
The view from the fortress is worth every step you have endured to get there. It is windy and cold up there, so get a windbreaker with you.

A beautiful cedar forest, still unknown to many, is our second point of interest. The old majestic trees stand tall and strong, a witness to thousands of years! Grab your chance.

What’s there in Tyre? What will we see? Here are some pointers:

Tyre is an ancient Phoenician city. It was founded around 2750 BC.
Remains from other periods have been unearthed at Tyre, including those from the Byzantine, Arab and Crusader eras, but it is the Roman ruins that are most numerous and impressive.

The sights of modern Tyre include a colorful souk (market), a double-domed Shia mosque, and a Christian quarter that is the seat of the Maronite Bishop of Tyre and the Holy Land.

Hiking Trip - Arz to Bkaakafra & Tanourine - Becharreh District
Arz Bcharre is one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon. It was nominated, along with the cave of Jeita, to become one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This Sunday, we will start our hike in Arz Bcharre. We will make a tour in the reserve, contemplating a real Lebanese treasure.

Then the group will be divided into level 6+ and level 3.

LEVEL 6+ (23 km) will walk to Arz Tannourine. The path is not too steep. It will end at the entrance of Arz Tannourine. You must be well prepared for long distances. Lunch will be somewhere along the way. It is an exceptional hike, worth all the effort needed. There will be stops for rest, so don’t worry.

LEVEL 3 will take the path leading to Bekaa Kafra, the home town of Mar Charbel. Unesco classified it as a typical traditional Lebanese village. It is a must to see.

Hiking Trip - Kornet Sawda! - Becharreh District
Hike to the highest peak in Lebanon! Enjoy the view at an altitude of 3,089 m!
No matter how hot it is in Beirut, you will need a thick jacket up there.

Kornet el Sawda is the highest peak in the Middle East. It really is worth all the effort you put to get there. The summit offers a huge panoramic view in all directions, and even Cyprus can be seen when weather conditions are especially good.

The hike is a tough one, LEVEL 7, and about 21 km long. It is mostly uphill. The hike starts from Dahr el Adeeb. The path is bare, with no trees to shade us from the sun. It is good to take the challenge. Reaching the highest peak (3,089 m) is a worthy experience.

If you prefer an easier hike (LEVEL3& 4), there is the possibility to take a lift in a pick-up to reduce a third of the path.

Hiking Trip - Kobayat Akkar Atika - Akkar District
We are heading north to Kobayat village for one of the most beautiful trails offering an endless variety of trees and landscapes. We will hike all together on a moderate hike of around 12 km without ascents. We will start from Bathet el Shouh towards a downhill trail leading us to a beautiful iron oak forest that reach the sky!
Then, we will head to a panoramic cliff offering stunning views of the area and villages such as Akkar el Atika and Zabbout to which we will head to visit ancient Canaanite tombs. On our way, we will see a spectacular diversity of trees such as Iron Oak, Cedars, Fir, Juniper, Oak, Pine and many more
We will come across two water springs, Nabeh el Banet, and Nabeh Hmadi where the hike will end
After the hike, we will go by bus to Morghan, a Lebanese restaurant atop a hill overlooking the whole region.

Hiking - Sfeereh - Donniye
Sfeereh, a surprisingly amazing small village located in Donniyeh

In this tiny village, we will see three Roman temples, one of which is well preserved, another partially built, and a third one that still has some remnants on the hill directly on top the other two.

The first, well preserved one, is El Sfeereh fortress that was built in the early third century, during the rule of the Roman leader, Speeros from which derives the name of the village. The emperor remained four years in the region and this temple had constructed to commemorate his name. The temple is almost whole, lacking only the pediment and the cornice. It is made of huge blocks of stone in a rectangular shape. The castle is an equivalent to a range of temples and a station for caravans heading from the coast towards the Bekaa and the other way round.

Saidet el Kalaa Sunset Hike

Sunset hikes always have a special touch. Calm your nerves and forget about daily stress!
We will start from Raachine, then we”ll visit the cedar forest in the area, then we will pass through the village of Tabrieh, then the village of Chahtoul. The last stop will be in Saidet el Kal3a where a miracle occurred there many years ago (1914). The view is breathtaking and it will be a perfect spot for a bonfire supper.
A bonfire will keep you warm while local inhabitants bake manakish on the saj, boil tea and roast potatoes and corn. Don’t miss it.

Hiking Trip - Blawza Annoubine - Becharreh and Ehden District
One can never get enough of Annoubine, because it is such a beautiful region. This is why we always go visit it. However, the trail that we will follow this time suits a big majority of people who would like to visit Annoubine. The trail comprises no uphill and its’ downhill is not very steep. Also, it is not a very long trail (only 9 KMs), with so many amazing views and landscapes).

We will have a Level 4 hike for everyone. We will start our walk in the village of Blawza, and pass by St. Marina Monastery, whose chapel now holds the tombs of eighteen patriarchs from the 15th to the 19th centuries. The chapel of St. Marina stands in the memory of a girl named Marina who entered Annoubine monastery disguised as a monk. (The whole story will be told during the hike).

This time we are heading to a wonderful new place that very little people know. It is, by far, one of the most beautiful areas in Lebanon! We are heading to Jurd al Hermel!

Our target is an amazing eco-friendly campsite located in “Al Jurd” reserve, a trilateral junction of Akkar, Hermel and Donniyeh districts.

This campsite is managed by Mr. Hussein Allaw, a loyal friend of Vamos Todos and a role model of in eco-tourism in the area of Hermel. He is making a beautiful work in maintaining the site in a good condition while maintaining the ecosystem of the surrounding area.

The site, including fully equipped tents entirely built with natural resources such as juniper wood, stones and other, is among the best in Lebanon.

Let s go to Assi River for rafting. The drive is long a bit, but it’s worth every minute of it!

We will stop on our way to visit Mar Maroun Cave, the source of Assi River, and the Ammou in Hermel. Mar Maroun Cave is one of a series of caves connected by stone steps just a few hundred meters west of the spring of el-Zerqa, on the south bank of Assi River. The main cave known as Mar Maroun Monastery (Cave of the Monks) was destroyed back in the 7th Century. It was originally constructed for builders working on the canalization channels and Hermel Pyramid (Ammou El-Hermel) in 200 B.C.; it became a sanctuary in 425. The Ammou stands on a hilltop surrounded by desert while its meaning and origin are still unknown until date. The pyramid has some beautiful carvings and was recently restored.

There are many explanations behind the name “Deir al Ahmar”. But due to the Maronite population of the village, locals believe that the name derives from the Syriac, “Deir Ohmor”, meaning “Monastery of the Lord's Brother”.

Hiking & Olive picking Trip - Rachaya al Foukhar - Hasbaya District
Rachaya al Foukhar is a Lebanese village in the district of Hasbaya in the Nabatiya Governate in Southern Lebanon. It is located on the Western slopes of Mount Hermon at an altitude ranging from 750m to 1,250m above sea level.

As its name suggests it is renowned for its clay market and products, which is believed to be the oldest in Lebanon. Therefore, we will have the privilege to visit a workshop that specializes in producing handmade pottery.

The village’s most famous clay product is the traditional water jar or "ibrik" also known in Spain as "The Phoenician Wine Jar".

Exceptionally on this day, we will hike all together on an easy trail.

After visiting the pottery workshop, we will visit “St Georges” church, which is one of the oldest churches in the area.

Our journey will start in the beautiful village, renowned for enclosing the largest pine forest in Lebanon and the Middle East, Bkassine. It is an essential elements of Jezzine district due to its abundant pine production supplying major parts of the country.

Hiking Trip - Niha Ferzol - Zahle District
Niha, in the Bekaa valley, is a village known for its citadels dated back to the Roman Empire, some even further back to the Byzantine and Phoenician era. The citadels are grand, with an importance as big as Baalbeck’s.
The Roman emperor used to come from Baalbeck to spend summer in Niha.
The word ‘niha’ means a place for rest. So what better place for the emperor to go?

Before starting the hike, we will visit some villager’s home in Niha where homemade organic produce such as kishk, pickles, syrups, vinegar…are being sold. It will be a privilege to acquire such healthy products and support the villagers.
If our group happens to be small in number, we might plan to have breakfast there too.

Hiking Trip - Baakline - Chouf District
Baakline, an ideal destination for hikers and nature lover as it is located in the beautiful area of Shouf where outstanding forests and well preserved nature can be seen.

Baakline is known for its unique national library containing a considerable number of information sources dating back to the Lebanese Republic history. The building was constructed in 1897 during the Ottoman Empire. It has been restored and inaugurated as a public library in 1987.

The National Library in Baakline is a living testimony to the people's will to be free and grow to their rightful potential. Ironically, this current intellectual monument is housed in the same building, once called the Grand Serail, which jailed the minds and souls of countless creative Lebanese under the Ottoman rule.

Hiking Trip - Hamatoura - Koura District
This hike in Kousba is diversified. You get to walk along the mountain cliff overlooking the whole region, and you get the chance to walk down the valley along the river bank. You will walk in bare areas as well as in dense forests.

Due to the topography of the ground, you are bound to ascend and descend some slopes, so the hike will be a Level 4 hike for the whole group.
You will start the hike from the electricity company in Kousba. There will be a long walk uphill, mostly a stony staircase, until you reach Deir Hamatoura. This abbey is the “Guardian of the City”. It is built in the rocks overlooking great views.

From there, you will continue along the cliff. The track is not hard, but you will need to be careful.

The name is derived from “Berkit Zeaiter” of the lake of Zeaiter that was located in the village. Hiking Trip - Rachaya al Wadi - Rachaya District
Rachaya el Wadi is a town of heritage and history. It is renowned for enclosing many old monuments, essentially the Citadel of Independence. In this amazing village you can also find the oldest church in the region, Mar Moussa al Habashi, a Syriac-Catholic church.

Standing on the foothills of “Jabal EL Cheikh” or “Hermon Mountain”, Rachaya el Wadi is distinguished for its old red-tile-roofed stone houses that have survived the most difficult and relevant phases of the Lebanese history.

Our hike in Rachaya El Wadi will be divided into two levels, Level 3 & 5 which will start all together on “Emm Chratit” tree, where you can hang your wish and take a tour in the village to see its most relevant sites such as the public garden, the old souk, the orthodox monastery, the citadel of independence and the old syriac-catholic church.

Hiking Trip - Marj Baskinta - Maten District
Baskinta is a Syriac word that means ‘the house of wisdom’. Being surrounded by natural walls (Sannine from the East, Bakiche and Marj from the north, Zaarour from the south, and it is open to a valley to the west) made it a geographical fortress.
Baskinta is the birth place of Mikhael Neaime.

Baskinta has a huge pine forest, called Marj Baskinta. Our hike this Sunday will be in the Marj, among dense trees that are tall, reaching the sky!

We will also visit two important landmarks of the village:

Convent of Our Lady of the Assumption: (Saidet el Bishara)
The construction was completed in 1767.
Once built, the convent turned into a masterpiece with the beauty of its yellow-petro stone, the majestic, symmetric and grandiose arcades.

Hiking - Assia - Assia Batroun
In the Assyrian language, the word ‘assia’ means ‘medical practitioner’. Assia was named after a monk who cared for patients and managed a monastery holding the name of St. Assia Monastery.

Assia is a village of exceptional beauty. It is rich in remainders of ancient civilizations; where we can see sarcophagi, old historical churches and old grape and olive presses. The village has many springs and water ponds; Saidet el Qalaa Pond, (or The Lady of the Fortress Pond), which is the most beautiful sight we will encounter. The water level is the same all year long. Just sitting there by the pond and watching the waterfall overhead is truly amazing! Assia is also known for its handcrafted pottery.

We will take you to a wonderful new trail fully prepared and coordinated by Vamos Todos. We are heading to Jezzine, specifically to the Haitoura village where we will start our hike to reach the village of Roum.

On our way, we will visit a boutique winery as well as many interesting sites such as old houses, 2000 years old olive trees and ancient grape presses craved in the rocks

We will all start together on a tour in Haitoura village heading to a beautiful pine forest reaching Kharshrayya, a small abandoned old village that and an extension to Maknounieh village. We will then all head to Karam Winery for a quick visit
Then we will separate into two levels

Level 3 will continue to St Peter monastery, then take the bus on a small tour in Maknounieh.

Hiking Trip - Turbul - Zgharta District
Jabal Turbul, a round-topped peak, stands 10 km of Al Mina. It is 681 m high and is an excellent landmark in clear weather.

The views from Jabal Turbul cover Tripoli, the coastline, Palm Island, Syria, Ouyoun el Samak…
The hike is along the ridge of the mountain, enabling you to see all these breathtaking views.
Jabal Turbul is a barren landscape. Spring is the ideal time for hiking there, since the weather is still cool, and spring flowers are in bloom.

The hike will be divided into three levels:
LEVEL 2 (3 1/2 km) will start from the residence of Jean Obeid and walk along a flat trail to get to the church of Turbul overlooking views from Tripoli to Syria. Then you will take the bus to the woods of Turbul.

Anjar Umayyad Ruins:
Anjar is a relative new-comer, going back to the early 8th Century AD, the Umayyad period. The Umayyads were the first of the two great dynasties of the Arab Moslem Empire.
Unlike Tyre and Byblos, which claim continuous habitation since the day they were founded, Anjar flourished for only a few decades.

At other historical sites in the country, different epochs and civilization are superimposed one on top of the other.

Hiking Trip - Mhaydse - Rachaya District
We are heading this time on a new trail in the Bekaa valley, specifically to Mhaydse, a small yet beautiful village in Rachaya district.
Mhaydse is a very special historical village located between Al Rafid and Kawkaba. What’s really unique about this village is that it’s the only village in the region that was not destroyed by the French government during the occupation.

Our hike will be inside and around this village, accompanied by beautiful views and breathtaking natural settings along the way.
All levels will start together on a moderate uphill track surrounded by the beauty of the Bekaa valley. Once done with this ascent, the group will be divided into two levels:

LEVEL 4 (8 km) – will take the trail back to the center of the village and enjoy the beauty of this typical village.

Hiking Trip - Lamartine Valley - Baabda District

Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869), the French poet and politician, lived in Lebanon during his voyage to the Orient. He loved it and got inspired by it. There are many places in Lebanon named after him. One of them is Lamartine Valley which was the source of inspiration to some of his literature masterpieces.

There are many sections in Lamartine valley suitable for hiking. We will do several this year, starting with Ras el Metn.

Ras el Metn is known for its pine trees that surround the village and are a source of valuable pine nuts.

Hiking Trip - Wadi Salib - Keserwan District
We are heading to Wadi El Salib, a valley known for enclosing an old forgotten town in its bottom. We will see plenty of houses, mills and churches that were abandoned since the end of World War I.

Our hike to reach this town will be a moderate one. We will start from Kfardebiane and start descending the valley along a track that offers wonderful views. We will have enough time to take pictures and enjoy the area. Along the way you will see very old olive trees and great scenery that will take your breath away.
You will also pass by a river, which at this time of year flows steadily.

Our lunch break will be close to the river, where you will enjoy cool moments under the shade of the trees. Please bring your lunch with you.

Hiking Trip - Beit Chabeb! - Maten District
Beit Chabab.

This event is a combination of hiking and cultural tour. We are going to visit one of the biggest villages in Metn…. BEIT CHABAB.
It’s time to discover our typical Lebanese villages and our traditional crafts.

The name Beit Chabab is Syriac in origin, meaning “the house of the neighbor.”

This village has retained its traditional crafts of pottery and bell making into the modern age. The only bell foundry in Lebanon, the craftsmen here cast the half-ton bronze bells in a single mold. The bells are usually made for Lebanon's Christian churches, who order them to a specific pitch.

Pottery workshops, which are open only during the summer months, turn out a selection of pottery ware including the huge storage jars that are traditionally used for olive oil, preserved meat or arak.

Hiking Trip - Al Bireh Majd Maouch Rechmaya - Chouf & Aley District
We are going on an amazingly picturesque hike strating from Al Bireh and reaching Wadi Rechmaya.
We will hike along the cliffs to reach Majd el Maouch, then continue to Rechmaya, end our hike in Wadi Rechmaya.

The views are breathtaking. We will get to see the cedar reserve of Chouf, the bridge of Dahr el Baidar, the mountains of Sannine and Kneiseh.
We will also visit Mar Maroun Monastry in Majd Le Maouch. a rock-cut structure in three levels. It is said to be the temporary refuge of the successors of Saint Maroun, founder of the Maronite.

Our hike will be divided into three levels.
LEVEL 2 & 4: Will take the bus to the peak of the mountain where we will be enjoy the amazing view overlooking the area where the biggest statue of Jesus in the Middle East will be built.

We are heading to a close but amazingly beautiful town, Brummana. Despite the high traffic inside this village, especially during summer, Brummana still got a unique cultural aspect and is truly a town of heritage. From old houses and churches to its municipality and main piazza, a hike inside and around Brummana is not to be missed!

This event is in collaboration with Mr. Kamal a very special friend of Vamos Todos and president of “Brumana Hiking Club”, a club fully dedicated to preserving the the natural and cultural aspect of this beautiful village.

Our hike will be a moderate one as an 8km loop hike, starting from the municipality of Brummana at an altitude. We will pass by the old houses and streets of this village until we reach the famous curve shaped cliff in Brummana valley.

Hiking Trip - Smar Jbeil, Jrabta, Sghar - Batroun District
A trail linking Smar Jbeil, Jrabta and Sghar is our plan for this Saturday.

You will see the historical citadel of Smar Jbeil, the Monastery of St. Rafqa, LBC’s premises where ‘El Wadi’ was filmed, and the remains of the ancient Al Qattine Monastery.

The trail passes through bushes and dirt roads.
The hike will be divided into three levels: LEVEL 2 (4 km), LEVEL 3 (6 km) & LEVEL 5 (10.5 km).

The three levels will start together from Smar Jbeil. The town’s name is derived from the Phoenician language, meaning “the guardian of Jbeil.” You will visit the Citadel dating back to the Phoenician era. The citadel was later occupied by the Romans, who left various inscriptions on its northern wall, followed by the Crusaders, who have built cellars next to its towers and a church to the east of the citadel.

Hiking Trip - Bziza Dar Bechtar - Koura District
Our villages are very beautiful and each Lebanese rural location can be considered, on its' own, as a project for ecotourism, due to the natural beauty and cultural wealth they contain.

Once again, Vamos Todos has prepared a new hiking event, in the region of Bziza-Darbechtar, which is rich with wonderful trails, old Lebanese houses, ruins, caves, old churches, in addition to a roman well sculpted in rocks.
Bziza stands over a former village that was destroyed by earthquakes. One can still see the ruins of a Roman temple standing over fifteen meters high, with fragments of pottery and oil lamps. Something also remains of an ancient mill and there are some sarcophagi. The Roman temple at Bziza is quite well preserved.

At an altitude of 2000m and 46 km from Beirut, Ouyoun El-Siman Kfardebian offers you fresh air, clean nature, spectacular views, and great exercise. Escape from the city and treat yourself to a memorable day among nature and friends.

We will walk in Kfardebiane, Warde.
The group will be divided into 2 levels.
Those of you who prefer to contemplate nature and take photos will join the easy level, consisting of some ascents.

Those who prefer a tougher workout will have to join the harder level, where stops are minimal and the track is mainly uphill.
Both levels will meet for lunch in a very nice place surrounded by a beautiful snowy scenery. Please bring your lunch with you.

On the way back, we will visit the ruins in Faqra.

Hiking Trip - Darb Sama & Darb Kamar - Keserwan District
This hike will be one to convey the true spirit of love by being on Christmas!

It will be an opportunity to visit Harissa before the year comes to an end. Join us on Sunday the 31st for a unique hike all the way from Sahel Alma to Harissa then to Antoura.

This hike will be two Levels 3 & 5 uphill & downhill. However, we will go to Harissa and back following two paths:
- The first trail, known as “Darb el Sama”, is quite steep but not very long. We will start walking from Sahel Alma, and reach Harissa through Ghadir. There will be a steep 500 meters uphill and the walk will last around 4 hours 12 km, with spectacular views along the way. Then will take the second trail level 3 will start from there, known as Darb el Qamar”, is quite suitable for those who would like to join the hike following an easy trail.

The Tannourine Cedars Forest Nature Reserve protects one of the largest and densest cedar forests in Lebanon.

As usual, there will be two levels of difficulty.
Level 3 - will have a moderate walk, with few ascents and descents and will have various stops for picture taking and resting.
Level 6 – will be mainly for exercising. The path will be mostly uphill, with few stops.

Hiking - Raachine Saydet el Kalaa - Ftouh Keserwan
It is the right time of the year hike in Ftouh Keserwan region. It is a beautiful walk, at only 35 kilometers from Beirut. From there, we will have a magnificent view of the whole region and enjoy the mesmerizing Lebanese landscape.

The hike will be divided into two levels

LEVEL 6 (12 km) will start from Raachine and head to Mar Doumit, a heritage monastery surrounded by huge oak trees. From there you will go to ‘Ghabet el Chahid’, which is a cedar forest dedicated to the martyrs of war. The trail will take you to Tabrieh village rich in ruins and great views. Then you will pass through a village called Chahtoul. The hike will end at the church of Saydet el Qalaa, where a miracle took place at the end of World War I.

LEVEL 3 (6 km) will start from ‘Ghabet el Chahid’ and follow the same track as level 6.

Snowshoeing - Al Arz - Becharreh District
Arz el Rabb is one of the most beautiful sites in Lebanon. It was nominated, along with the cave of Jeita, to become one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The cedar forests of Lebanon are the oldest documented forests in history. There are 31 cedar forests in Lebanon, most significantly the forest of the Cedars of God in Bcharre. It is an ancient grove of cedars, the oldest in Lebanon. It makes a beautiful site, especially in winter, when snow covers it all and gives it a feeling of peace and calmness.
We will also see the amazing sculptures of Rudy Rahmeh, adding beauty to this historical forest.

The walk will be two levels; level 3 and level 6.
Both levels will walk in the reserve and enjoy the peaceful sight of snow-covered cedar trees.

Hiking Trip - Chbanieh - Baabda District
We will discover Chbanieh, a beautiful village located in the Metn Region and walk on a new trail fully prepared and coordinated by Vamos Todos. This is definitely one of the most beautiful hiking locations in Lebanon, with plenty of wonderful landscapes to enjoy.
Like most villages in the Lebanese mountains, Chbanieh is covered with trees and orchards. It is located amidst a beautiful vast valley, which dazzled the French poet Lamartine, so the valley became known by the name of “Lamartine Valley”.

There are monuments of ancient graves in the town which are named “the graves of the Jews” until this day. Near the sarcophagus of the Jews there is a deep cave which has not been discovered yet, known as “Magharat Harb”.

Snowshoeing - Laqlouq - Jbeil District
Laqlouq is a winter and summer resort, situated on a plateau at an altitude between 1750m and 2000m. Laqlouq is encircled by jagged ridges and terraces bearing thousands of trees.

Laqlouq is known for its numerous water reservoirs. In winter, when it is covered with snow, you get the impression of seeing ice ponds everywhere. It is a naturally beautiful view, and a must to see.
As usual, snowshoeing offers us the unique experience of calm and serenity. We will discover Laqlouq’s beauty while walking on snow.

There will be two levels of difficulty.
Although both levels will be walking the same area, the harder level will take the steeper hills and the longer path to reach the top where a huge cross is located and views of the whole region can be seen.

Wine Tour - Wine Tour - Keserwan & Batroun District
This wine tour is different from the rest. We will visit wineries mainly the North: Trappiste, Chateaux Musar, Adyar and lunch will be in Chobtine.

Our first stop will be at the ‘Trappiste Priests Winery’. We will have breakfast there, then we’ll visit their winery and taste their exquisite homemade wines. Trappiste is a small winery, producing small quantities of high quality wine.

Our second stop will be in Ghazir to visit CHATEAUX MUSAR:
Chateau Musar, famous locally and internationally, is located in Ghazir. The winery was established by Gaston Hochar in 1930. Created in the cellar of an old 17th century castle, Château Musar is the work of a family. The vineyards of Château Musar are located at an altitude of over 1,000 meters in the Bekaa Valley.

Snowshoeing - Falougha Snowshoeing - Baabda District
Discover a new snowshoeing trail from Falougha to Jabal el Kneiseh.
At more than 1650 meters altitude, you’ll have wonderful views of the whole region.

The trail first passes by Falougha Cedar Forest where the first Lebanese flag was raised continuing to Lamartine Rock where the famous French poet, Lamartine, used to sit and get inspired.

The group will be divided into two levels.
The hard level will start from Sohat factory in Falougha and continue uphill until they reach Jabal Kneiseh. From there they will go to the Cedar forest and then to Lamartine Rock for lunch.
The easier level will start from Sohat factory in Falougha and continue to Sohat Village then to the Cedar forest heading to Lamartine Rock for lunch.
After lunch, both groups will go back together to Falougha where the trail will end.

Dakkoun to Damour Hiking Trip
Can’t be missed!!

Daqqoun and Damour are two villages in the Mount Lebanon Governorate overlooking the coast. Both are located at the South-East of Beirut. Daqqoun is in the Aley District while Damour is in the Chouf District.
Daqqoun, its name is said to be derived from the village’s men. They were known for their well-built bodies, strong fists, & long beards. It is considered one of the most spectacular villages in The Aley District because of its glorious nature. Throughout this village, there are some heritage sights that go back to the Phoenician, Roman, and Ottoman Era. Unfortunately, some were destroyed during the Civil War.

As for Damour, the name of the town is obtained from the name of the Phoenician God Damoros who symbolized immortality.

Our track leads to a beautiful barely known cedar forest, where views are awesome!
As usual, there will two levels of difficulty.

The easy level will have an undemanding walk, with very light ascents and descents. It is ideal for picture taking. It will be a great snowshoeing session and a lovely day with the group.

The harder level is a moderate walk with long ascents, but not steep ones. This level is strictly for advanced walkers.

Both levels will get to see the largest illuminated cross in the world located on Bakiche.

Snowshoeing - Hadath Jebbeh Snowshoeing - Becharreh District
Hadath El Jebbeh is a beautiful northern village overlooking Annoubine Valley and the Cedars of Tannourine.
There is a wonderful cedar forest in this village, and so it would be a great place for snowshoeing.
The walk will start from the main piazza.
There will be two levels of difficulty.
*The easy level will walk through a pine forest and take a short path until they reach the cedar trees. The length of the trip is around 4 km.
*The harder level will walk through the same pine forest, but take a longer path to the cedars. The length of the trip is around 8 km.
The two levels will meet for lunch in a beautiful setting among the cedars of Hadath El Jebbeh.

We are lucky to have various mountains ideal for snowshoeing. Each mountain offers different views and has unique characteristics. No snowshoeing event is like the other.

The Sannine Mountain geographically lies in the center of Lebanon. Sannine peaks are very prominent in the skyline of Lebanon. The highest point is at 2628 m above sea level. Our walk will be at an altitude of 1800 m.
At the bottom, there are countless abundant water sources. It is only 40 km away from Beirut.

It is a perfect place for snowshoeing, where you will enjoy fresh air and breathtaking views of the whole region.
The group will be divided into two levels. The hard level will have a tough uphill walk, with few stops for picture taking and rest.
The easier level will have minimal ascents and descents.

Our hike this time will be in one of the most beautiful villages of Batroun caza, Bchaale & Assia.

“Bchaale”, meaning “rest and safety” in Assyrian, is a small village standing on the amazing hills of Batroun caza. It is mostly known for its 6000 years old olives trees otherwise known as “The Sisters” as it is believed that they were there since Noah’s flood and they are this sisters of Noah. This village is a must see as it holds one of the oldest and most important “beings” on earth!

Named after monk who cared for patients in the area whose name was “Assia” or ‘medical practitioner’ in Assyrian language, Assia is a village of exceptional beauty. It is rich in remainders of ancient civilizations; where we can see sarcophagi, old historical churches and old grape and olive presses.

Kab Elias is a town in the Bekaa valley rich in historical sites and it is 15 kilometers away from Zahle.

Our hike today will be complemented by an exquisite wine tasting in Chateau Heritage in which the owners of the winery and loyal friends of Vamos Todos will make us a tour and give us all the needed info. They will first share with us some new trails in the village in which they live all year long, Kab-Elias.

It is important to note here that Mr. Dargham is the ex-president of Kab Elias and he showed showing great passion for his village and he still is taking part in the municipality. As to the cognac tasting, it will occur directly from the cave. Your taste buds will go crazy after tasting high quality products right from the winery.

Laqlouq is a winter and summer resort, situated on a plateau at an altitude between 1750m and 2000m.

There will be two levels of difficulty.
We will take a new track this time. The eastern side has more snow, and is richer in scenic views and cedar trees.

Although both levels will be walking the same area, the harder level will take the steeper hills and the longer path.
The harder level will reach the top to the cross, where views of the whole region can be seen.
Both levels will meet for lunch at a very picturesque spot. Please bring your lunch with you.

Zaarour is the closest snow resort to Beirut.
At 1650 m above sea level, you will enjoy wonderful views. Zaarour overlooks Sannine Mountains and the Valley of the Skulls.

The easy level is for nature lovers who like to enjoy the scenery and take photos. There will be ascents, but not too steep.

This time, we are heading south to spend a weekend in the middle of Jezzine District, a region consisting of many villages that are considered one of the best summer resorts in Lebanon. Located at an average altitude of 950m, nature endowed them with beautiful pine forests and fruit tree orchards.
In the village of Mashmoushi, which was the first seat of the Maronite bishopric in the area, you can visit the beautiful 18th century monastery.
There is an old Byzantine settlement, famous for its artificial lake, fed by the Litani River through a 16 km long tunnel.

Hiking Trip - Arnoun…Beaufort Castle - Nabatieh District
Arnoun…Beaufort Castle or Qalaat el Shkif.
Beaufort Castle stands on a rocky crest amidst enchanting countryside, not far from Mount Hermon and overlooking the Litani River in South Lebanon. Beaufort Castle, or Qalaat el-Shkif, is a mighty fortress standing on a strategic site on the roads of Tyre and the South.
The view all around is panoramic and enough to take anyone's breathe away. You will have a clear view all the way across the border of the country.

The Crusaders took possession of it in 1139, and there are traces there of earlier Arab construction.
You will enjoy hiking to it along a nice and safe path. Getting to the castle is worth every step you take!

Before starting the hike, we will visit Zaatar Zawtar. It is a thyme plantation run by a villager. Zaatar Zawtar is organic, certified by LibanCert.

We might have all visited Baalbek for a typical historical visit to one of the most important cities in Lebanon and the world! It is now time to visit it in a more cultural, eco touristic way where we will get to experience “the city of the sun” like no one has done it before!

Most old roman trails that we walk in Lebanon, were trails that lead to routes to Baalbek in the olden ages. In the roman days, people used to go on pilgrimage every once in a while from all over Lebanon. Nowadays, this city still has never lost its sense of history and its importance.

Mostly known for its relatively well preserved temples, it has the Temple of Jupiter, which is one of the most well-known temples, The Round Temple also known as the Temple of Venus, and the Little Temple also known as the Temple of Bacchus.

Hiking Trip - Kfarshleiman - Batroun District
We are heading to the amazing village of Kfarshleimen where our hike will begin heading to Zein, another wonderful village in Batroun disctrict.

You will be overwhelmed by amazing trails, panoramic views and cultural sites. We will visit relevant ruins most importantly a Roman city engraved in stones. We will also pass by one of the four oldest churches in Lebanon, Saydet Naya where presses are also engraved in the rocks
This hike will be divided into three equally beautiful levels:

Level 6 (12 KMs) will start their walk with a steep ascent in Assia, continue to Kfarshleiman, and then head to Zein.

Hiking Trip - Nahr Joz - Batroun District
Nahr el Jawz (Walnut River) comes from the depths of the Lebanese mountains then turns southward and empties into the sea between Batroun and Hamath. The river itself comes from two springs bubbling up above Tannourine.

The beauty of Nahr El Jawz is at its peak during spring. Grab this opportunity to witness nature in all its colors. The wild flowers are so colorful along the river bank, spreading red, purple, yellow and white sparkles all over the ground. The water at this time of year flows so vigorously that it fills the air with a loud splashing sound. You will be charmed by the trees along the river banks, above all by the walnut trees which grow in preference close to water and which have given the river their name.

Years ago, Nahr El Jawz valley was the only possible way through which armies could reach Batroun.

Hiking Trip - Baskenta - Maten District
Baskinta is a Syriac word that means ‘the house of wisdom’. Being surrounded by natural walls (Sannine from the East, Bakiche and Marj from the north, Zaarour from the south, and it is open to a valley to the west) made it a geographical fortress.
Baskinta is the birth place of Mikhael Neaime.

Our hike in Baskinta is by far one of the most beautiful. There are countless streams all along the way. With Sannine’s snow melting at this time of year, many streams and rivers are rushing down. You will listen to the running water throughout the hike. The ground is moist and flowers are in full bloom.
We will walk along the literary trail of Baskinta, where many poets and writers have lived and left remarkable works behind them.

Hiking Trip - Tannoura Ain Horcha - West Bekaa
We are heading to the beautiful West Bekaa, specifically to Tannoura. We will start all together along a cliff overlooking breathtaking views of the area until we reach once of the most beautiful, well preserved historical temples in Lebanon located in Ain Horcha village.

Surprisingly, the temple, dating back to the second century, is still in good shape and is well maintained by the locals of the village. We will visit it thoroughly and have a full understanding of its most relevant values.

We will then be divided into two levels:

LEVEL 3 will take the bus to Ain Ata village, for lunch. We will have enough time to rest and take pictures

LEVEL 6 will continue on foot to Ain Ata to meet with the other group. We will have minimal time for rest and photo sessions.

Snowshoeing - Qornet Sawda SS - Becharreh District
The snow season is coming to an end, but we have chosen a beautiful way to bid farewell! We will head to the highest peak in Lebanon and the Levant, Qornet el Sawda. It will be the perfect way to say goodbye to winter from an altitude of 3088 m above sea level

Due to the steepness of the hills there, we will have two advanced levels. Level 5 (moderate +) & Level 8 (extreme hard) who both will take the same direction but different steepness around the hills

This snow hike for both levels will be a long one of around 6.5 hours of moving time, reaching the peak and returning to the starting point.

Hiking Trip - Ain Zebde - West Bekaa
Ain Zebde, one of the most beautiful villages in Lebanon, where one can witness the huge variety of nature components that our country, and specifically the Bekaa valley can offer.

Standing on the foothills of al Barouk Mountains, Ain Zebde is one of the highest villages of West Bekaa. It is surrounded by Kherbet Kanafar to the north and Saghbine to the south.

The village’s name refers to the abundance of water sources surrounding it which are the main source of the Litani River. During the hike you will notice that the sound of water will accompany you for the whole journey.

Hiking Trip - Mazraat Teffeh - Zgharta District
Mazraet el Teffeh, an amazing village in Zgharta district, famous for its rare forests.
It was named after the apple trees that grew in it for the longest time. Today, the apple trees are minimal to what they were in the past as they started disappearing little by little. In the meantime the pine trees and the oak trees are rising in numbers; increasing the size of the magnificent green forest to make it one of the best in the world.

Hiking in Mazraet El Teffeh is hiking among trees, so close together that you get the impression of passing through a tunnel of greenery, of trees, of bushes… The place is rich in water sources, and old stone paths. The views are remarkable. You just have to be there to believe!
You will see vast green mountains with a huge waterfall that lies between them.

Hiking Trip - Yammouneh - Baalbek district
Yammouneh is the site of an ancient sacred lake and Roman temple.
A great water cavern west of the temple fills the lake each year, although at other times it may appear almost dry. Luxurious Roman villas used to occupy the area between the cavern and the temple and numerous altars, statues and other elements have been discovered nearby.

All that remains of the temple today is a retaining wall of limestone blocks which goes down to the lake level. Beneath are believed to be subterranean chambers, probably dedicated to Venus-Astrate. Legend has it that when Typhon made war against the heavens, it was at Yammouneh that Venus changed herself into a fish.

Yammouneh is rich in water at this time of year. It is the best time to visit. There, you will see old ruins, lots of water sources, and amazing scenery.

Hiking Trip - Mokhtara! - Chouf District
The Chouf region is by far the best in maintaining and preserving forests and nature. There are many villages that are rich in scenic spots and old historical places. We are going to visit El Mokhtara, Amatour and Bater.

El Mokhtara is a historic town where many traditional houses still stand. This town is famous for being the seat of the Jumblatt family, the leaders of the Druze community in the Chouf. The town is also notable for its beautiful houses, old oil presses, churches, and the historical Mokhtara Castle.

In our hike, we will see very old bridges, built by the Mameluks. You will also cross wooden bridges made from logs, also pass next to small waterfalls and old mills. You will walk by the river and witness the rushing waters. The beauty of the scenery is beyond description.

Hiking Trip - Shuane Lake - Keserwan District
The Shuane Lake is located on the river bank of the Ibrahim River, at the north side of Jabal Moussa Reserve. This reserve extends over a large area and offers exquisite views as well as the special flora and fauna that cover about 6,500 hectares. This lake is, by far, one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon.

As always there will be 2 levels; A hard and easy level:
Level 6 (Hard): we will start by going up a steep hill to “Ibri “village then they will proceed downwards from the other side to the Shuane Lake. The trail is composed of 10 km of steep uphill and downhill.

Level 3 (Easy): we will head out directly to the Lake where they can take plenty of photos. The trail will be of 4 km, quite steep but not as long as the hard level’s trail.

Hiking Trip - Ammiq Reserve - West Bekaa
Ammiq, one the most important places for migrating birds, is our next venture. Ammiq is the biggest swamp in Lebanon. It has a bird watching tower, where observation of migrating birds takes place.

Ammiq joins the Bekaa with the west mountain chain of Lebanon. It is known for its various types of trees.
The hike will be along the edge of mountains where many trees provide shade and shelter. It is one of the rare places in the Bekaa rich in a diversity of tree species.

The view for all levels is spectacular. From the hilltop, you will see the most beautiful part of the valley. The scenery will take your breath away.

Hiking Trip - Naqura! - Tyre District
Let's head to the farthest point in the South and spend unforgettable times in the last town at the Lebanese southern frontiers, in Naqura.

Of course, we would like to thank the mayor of Naqura who helped us prepare this new, exciting and varied trip, during which we will walk on a beautiful trail, have a delicious fish lunch at a resort and swim in the Mediterranean Sea.
So, grab your backpacks and swimsuits, and join us for this incredible new adventure.
Our hiking path will not be long, and we will go on a moderate hike of 9 km, on a hill overlooking the sea and the Naqura borders. Those who want can choose a shorter and easier level, and the bus can pick them up at several locations.

We will start walking in the ancient Roman Al Omad City, then continue trekking on a beautiful path until we reach the beach.

Hike & Wine Tour - Hike & Wine Tour Bekaa - West Bekaa Kefraya
There is no good or bad time to taste wine, it is always the right time! What if the wine was produced in the fertile vineyards of the beautiful West Bekaa region!

To complement the journey, we will start with a moderate hike in one of the most beautiful villages of the area, Ain Zebde. This small village stands on a hill overlooking a panoramic view from Zahle to Jabal el Sheikh (or Hermon Mountain) amazingly mirrored by the Qaroun Lake. We will see very old oak trees that date back to the Roman era and have a lot of stories to tell. The hike will be a moderate one with some, not too steep ascents.

Hiking Trip - Ras El Metn Ksaibe Ste Veronica - Baabda District
Ras El Metn is a Lebanese village in the caza of Baabda, it has a beautiful location, overlooking the valleys and the sea together because it is located on a hill crowned with a pine forest that aided magnificence and beauty.

Ras El Metn is the birthplace of one of Lebanon’s most famous modern personalities. The writer Anis Freiha. He said: “There is in Lebanon, a sacred mountain, that the top may be the most beautiful peaks of God on earth, which is my village Ras El Metn”. Freiha compared his village to “a peninsula surrounded by two deep valleys on three sides, it is by the geographic composition isolated from the outside world”.

Ras El Metn was classified by the Ministry of Tourism as a “Summer Tourism Town”.

Hiking - Hardine - Hardine Batroun
Situated in the middle part of Batroun Casa - North Lebanon, Hardine is a quiet and peaceful village, still maintaining its typical Lebanese architecture with old houses and red roofs. Lying in the middle of a valley, Hardine counts 36 churches and convents, and is the village where Saint Naamtallah El Hardini was born.

An old roman temple is still remaining on the upper hill of Hardine, from where you can see from the west side the Mediterranean sea and from the east side the famous cedar forest of Tannourine.

The «rocky tile of Hardine» is a must to see. It has many marine fossils and is sloped to the west. It has a unique length of 350m and a width of nearly 100m.

Hiking Trip - Kfarmechki - West Bekaa
This time, we are heading to West Bekaa, to Kfarmeshki village. Located next to Rachaya al Wadi, this small village holds two beautiful roman temples that consist the main attraction of the village.

The village is also known for the abundant local products prepared by villagers. We will get the chance to buy and enjoy those local products at the end of our hike
All levels will start together from the main piazza of the village. We will visit the main church of the village and then continue our hike passing by 3 hills overlooking the whole village and surrounding area. On our way we will see many caves and old wells until we reach the first roman temple.
After that we will be divided into two levels:

Level 4+ will have their lunch break next to the temple.

Hiking Trip - Abaydat - Jbeil District
Our hike will be in an area called 'Bawaleeh' located in the villages of 'Obaydat' and 'Sakiet El Khait'.

It is a place full of ancient caves and churches, with some dating back to thousand years.

The caves are carved high in the rocks to which we will need to climb an iron ladder to get into them. Unfortunately, they are not very known although they are the hidden treasures of Lebanon which are yet to be unveiled.

Our hike will be divided into two levels 3 and 5.
Both levels will, more or less, take the same path.

Our first visit will be to the cave of Mar Semaan, one of Mar Maroun's followers. It is a very old cave, more than a thousand years old. There are remains of frescos painted on the inner walls.
