  • Ehden Overnight – Discover the Beauty of Ehden Forest (Horsh Ehden)

    Ehden Forest (Horsh Ehden) is one of Lebanon's most vibrant ecosystems, showing its true splendor in autumn when the colors of its diverse tree species paint the landscape. The Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve is a marvel of biodiversity, home to more than 1,000 documented types of trees and plants—nearly 40% of Lebanon’s total flora—within less than 0.1% of the country’s land area.

    Overnight Program Schedule
    Friday
    • Arrival in Ehden town
    • Guided tour of Al Midan and Youssef Beyk Karam
    • Dinner and overnight in cozy bungalows at the reserve entrance
    o Heated, well-furnished, private washroom
    Saturday
    • Optional sunrise hike to the Btellaya hut (2,000 m) with panoramic views of the forest and juniper trees
    • Return for a homemade breakfast
    • Meet participants arriving from Beirut

    Hiking Levels
    • Level 3 (moderate):
    o Begins at Nabaa Jouit (lower entrance)
    o Passes through pine forests, wild apple trees, deciduous and evergreen oaks, yellow-leafed maple trees
    o Trail ends around 1,750 m in the heart of the cedar forest
    • Level 5 (challenging):
    o Same as Level 3 but at a faster pace
    o Extends up to the Btellaya hut (2,000 m)
    o Stunning views of the reserve and juniper trees
    • Level 6 (advanced, clear weather only):
    o Trail leads to the mountain’s peak
    o Stop at Abou Yousef's house and cave “Beb el Hawa”
    o Continues to the summit of Jurd and Saidet el Hosn

    Lunch & Closing
    • Lunch prepared by local residents
    • A perfect way to celebrate the region’s flavors after an unforgettable eco-adventure

    WHERE: Ehden – North Lebanon
    1450 meters above sea level.

    WHEN: Friday, November 21 & Saturday, November 22/ last day for reservation for the weekend participants is Tuesday, November 18.

    MEETING TIME: 1:00 PM on Friday. Departure at 1:15 PM sharp.
