Hiking Trip - Arz Karm Mohr & Aicha Fortress Hike - Doniyeh District

  • Exploring Karm El Mohr – A Journey Through Nature and Heritage

    Tucked away in the Donniyeh district of North Lebanon, Karm El Mohr is a hidden gem blending natural beauty with rich history.

    Highlights of the Journey:
    • Aisha Fortress:
    An impressive rock structure overlooking the spring of Al Fawwar. This former summer residence of Princess Aisha (13th century) once guarded the ancient route between Donniyeh and Baalbek. The views from the top are stunning — but bring a windbreaker, it gets chilly up there!
    • Cedar Forest Escape:
    A peaceful and lesser-known forest filled with majestic ancient cedars. The perfect spot for a nature walk, photos, and a relaxing lunch break in the wild.

    Hiking Level:
    • Level 5 + – Around 12 km:
    A moderate trail that leads to Nabeh el Fawwar, just below the fortress. You'll enjoy forested paths, water springs, and gentle terrain, starting from “Swekeh.”

    We will stop at Ain Neblayya, a fresh spring where you can refill water bottles. Then we all head together to the cedar forest for lunch - a homemade meal lovingly prepared by locals.

    2400 m above sea level - 110 km from Beirut

    MEETING TIME: 8:00 AM. Departure at 8:15 AM sharp.

    There will be a breakfast stop along the way.

    PRICE: $70 per person, including transport, guides, insurance and lunch.
