Hiking Trip - Ammouaa Fnaydik Hike - Akkar District

  • Ammoua: A Hidden Forest Treasure in Akkar

    To capture the essence of its name, picture yourself in a landscape shaped like a funnel, surrounded by a vibrant diversity of trees. That’s exactly where our next journey takes us - Ammoua.

    Nestled in the heart of Akkar, Ammoua is blessed with abundant water sources capable of irrigating neighboring villages.

    What makes Ammoua truly special is its rich biodiversity, home to more than 40 tree species, including the rare fir trees. It is the only place in Lebanon where a forest of fir or iron oak thrives, with some majestic giants reaching up to 30 meters high.

    To ensure everyone can enjoy this natural wonder, our hike is divided into 3 levels:
    - Level 2 – Easy and flat, exploring the Ammoua plain.
    - Level 5 – A bit longer, with a moderate-plus pace and some ups and downs. Both Levels 2 and 5 will allow plenty of time to take in the scenery, rest, and capture beautiful photos.

    After the hike, both groups will come together for a homemade traditional lunch, featuring

    Akkar’s specialties. This delightful meal will be served picnic-style, right in the heart of the unique iron oak forest.

    Although reaching this destination takes a little longer than usual, the experience is absolutely worth it. Ammoua is one of our country’s hidden gems - an awe-inspiring treasure that truly
    deserves to be discovered.

    MEETING TIME: 8:00 AM. Departure at 8:15 AM sharp.

    There will be a breakfast stop along the way.

    PRICE: $70 per person including transport, guides, insurance and lunch.
