Hiking Trip - Sahel Alma - Ghosta Hike - Keserwan District

  • Sahel Alma – Ghosta – Ain Warka

    Join us for a beautiful hiking day as we explore three emblematic villages of Ftouh Keserwan — blending nature, heritage, and spirituality.

    • We’ll start from Sahel Alma, enjoying a breathtaking panoramic view stretching from Tripoli to Beirut, overlooking the Gulf of Jounieh.
    • Along the way, we’ll visit several monasteries: Deir Baklouch, Deir Mar Youhanna El Kreim in Ghosta, the Jabal El Rahme Project (Mount of Mercy), and finally Deir Ain Warka.
    • At Jabal El Rahme, discover the highest statue of Christ in Lebanon (22 meters including the base), a chapel dedicated to Mother Teresa, and a museum honoring Saint John Paul II.
    • At Deir Ain Warka, explore this 13th-century monastery — once a center of Maronite education and now an essential religious heritage site.
    • At Deir El Kreim, we’ll visit the tomb of Father Boutros Chalhoub, founder of the Scouts of Lebanon.

    One Moderate Hiking Level:
    • Level 4: Starting from Deir Mar Youhanna El Kreim, including visits to the monastery and the Mount of Mercy project.
    Both groups will meet at Deir Ain Warka, where we’ll wrap up this inspiring day with a delicious homemade lunch in a charming guesthouse before heading back to Beirut.

    MEETING TIME: 8:00 AM. Departure at 8:15 AM sharp.

    There will be a breakfast stop along the way.
