    Discover Ras El Metn: A Hidden Gem in the Baabda District
    Nestled in the Baabda district, Ras El Metn is a charming Lebanese village perched atop a hill and embraced by a lush pine forest. The village offers breathtaking views of both valleys and the sea, enhancing its natural beauty and allure.

    Ras El Metn is notable as the birthplace of the prominent Lebanese writer Anis Freiha, who described it poetically as:

    "In Lebanon, there is a sacred mountain, the summit of which may be the most beautiful peak of God on earth, which is my village Ras El Metn."

    He emphasized its geographical isolation, surrounded by two deep valleys.

    Designated as a "Summer Tourism Town" by the Ministry of Tourism, Ras El Metn warmly invites visitors to experience its unique charm.

    Highlights of the Hike:
    • Starting Point – Ras El Metn Village: Explore the Government House, built in 1775 by the Lamaeyeen princes. Despite historical scars, the courtyard, bell tower, and traditional architecture remain captivating.
    • Scenic Walk: Enjoy the fragrant pine forest and the enticing aroma of carob molasses along the trail.
    • Ksaibe Village – Carob Molasses Capital:
    o Discover the tradition of carob molasses production, maintained by local villagers.
    o Visit a local carob mill and have the opportunity to purchase freshly made syrup.
    • Sanctuary of St. Veronica Giuliani: Inaugurated in July 2016, the sanctuary honors the saint whose veneration has spread to Lebanon for the first time in 300 years beyond Italy.

    • Level 3: Approximately 7 km
    • Level 5: Approximately 11 km
