Hiking - Chouwen Lake - Keserwan District

  • Chouwen Lake, nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of Lebanon, is one of the most captivating natural settings you'll encounter. Situated within the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve along the banks of the Ibrahim River, this reserve covers approximately 6,500 hectares and boasts breathtaking views, unique flora, and fauna.

As we venture to the charming village of Chouwen, our hike will be of moderate difficulty.

Level 4 (Moderate) – Participants will make their way directly to the lake via a trail that begins with a downhill stretch. Along the way, we'll pause at a wooden balcony nestled amidst the wilderness, offering a picturesque view of the river. Continuing our descent, we'll eventually arrive at the tranquil shores of the lake, where we'll have the opportunity to soak in the serene ambiance of the surroundings while awaiting the arrival of the more advanced group.

Following our invigorating hike, we'll indulge in a delectable homemade lunch at a local guesthouse.

On our return journey, we'll have the chance to admire the historic Mameluke bridge in its entirety.
