Sunset Hike - Anfeh Sunset Hike - Koura District

  • Join us for an unforgettable coastal hike, where you can witness the beauty of a summer sunset while exploring historical ruins.

    Our journey begins in Horshieh, where a serene path winding through olive groves leads to the charming Saidet el Khrayeb church. Continuing through the olive trees, we'll soon catch sight of the sparkling sea as we make our way to Anfeh, an ancient village steeped in history and dotted with ruins and caves.

    In Anfeh, you'll have the opportunity to explore a Byzantine church and other historical landmarks, including the Citadel of Anfeh, a remnant of the Crusader era with significant traces of earlier civilizations. From ancient graves to mosaic fragments, olive presses, and salt pans, the citadel offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's rich past, with its distinctive rock-cut trench (Al-Khandaq) adding to its allure.

    Our hike concludes in a naturally furnished cave, where we'll indulge in delicious manakish and hot tea prepared by a local resident. Please note: This hike is rated as an easy level, mainly traversing the narrow streets of Anfeh.

    WHAT TO GET: A light snack that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits and water. You must wear hiking shoes or comfortable walking shoes. Get a light jacket since it gets cold during the last hours of the day and at night. Don’t forget to get a flashlight.

    SPECIAL RATES:
    - Children with the age of 10 and younger will have a discount of 4$.
    - Children/ Teenagers between the age of 11 and 18 will have a discount of 3$.
    - University students will have a discount of 2$ provided that they present their university card.
    - Groups with 5 to 9 persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 2$ discount.
    - Groups with 10 or more persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 3$ discount.

    PAYMENT TERMS:
    - Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price
    - Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra 2$.
    (e.g. Cancelling or booking for a Sunday’s event on Saturday will be subject to the above terms)

    ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS
    - Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event
    - Always follow the guide on the designated trail
    - Do not go off road without notifying the guide
    - Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so
    - Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member
    - Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.
