Wine Tour - Wine Tour West Bekaa - Bekaa Valley

  • “Penicillin cures, but wine makes people happy.” - Alexander Fleming
Lebanon stands as one of the world's oldest hubs of wine production. The Bekaa Valley is the primary region for vine cultivation. The French influence on Lebanon is evident in the prevalent grape varieties: Cinsaut, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Mourvedre, Grenache, and Syrah.

Lebanon benefits from around 300 days of sunshine annually, fostering a thriving industry that crafts award-winning wines exported globally, with a strong presence in the UK, Europe, and the United States.

This wine tour promises a truly exceptional experience, bringing new discoveries to the fore. Responding to numerous requests, our lunch will take place this time at Kefraya, where an intriguing ecotourism expedition awaits, accompanied by lunch at the captivating Chateau, adding an extra layer of engagement.

All in all, our itinerary encompasses two wineries:
Our first visit takes us to Clos St. Thomas. This family-run winery has clinched four gold and four silver medals at esteemed international wine competitions. Here, you'll gain insights into winemaking processes and savor their exquisite wines.

The second destination is Kefraya, renowned internationally for its 'Parkerised' Cabernet/Syrah Comte de M 1996. The winery now crafts nine wines, with Kefraya's expansive gardens being a definite must-see.

This time around, our tour of Kefraya brings a distinct flavor. Our focus remains on providing novelty, ensuring each trip becomes even more thrilling. The visit includes an ecotourism venture within the estate. A train journey leads us through Kefraya's vineyards and fields. We'll reach a natural cave, catching a glimpse of ruins along the way. Here, you'll be treated to mesmerizing landscapes and panoramic views of the entire region. Subsequently, the winery awaits, offering a tour inside the Chateau and, naturally, a wine tasting session.

Following the enchantment of our prestigious wineries, lunchtime arrives, gracing us at Kefraya's special restaurant. Wine and soft drinks will accompany the meal.

On our journey back, a stop in Chtaura will provide an opportunity to purchase fresh dairy products.
