Hiking Trip - Mazraat El Chouf to Bisri Hike - Jezzine & Saida District

  • This Wednesday, we'll embark on a breathtaking trail, one of the most enchanting hikes that will imprint unforgettable images in your memory. Our journey will take us from Mazraat el Chouf to Bisri in the Chouf region.

    During the hike, we'll encounter ancient olive trees and enjoy stunning views of Marj Bisri and the entire valley. Additionally, we'll have the privilege of traversing Roman stairs and passing through a remarkably beautiful Roman passage nestled within the cliff.

    We'll follow a picturesque trail through captivating scenery until we reach Bisri.

    Hiking along the riverbanks of Bisri involves crossing streams, navigating through tall forests, and marveling at breathtaking vistas that will leave a lasting impression.

    The Bisri River, a tributary of the Awwali River, delineates Mount Lebanon from the South. The natural beauty during this season is at its peak, with the river's robust water level providing a perfect setting for our stroll.

    The hike offers two difficulty levels: LEVEL 3 (7km) includes a leisurely walk along the riverbank, allowing ample time to appreciate the scenery and snap photos. It's relatively easy, with minor ascents and descents. LEVEL 6 (15km) entails more challenging trails, including some uphill sections.

    At the conclusion of our hike, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Bisri, situated by the riverside.

    WHAT TO GET: Light snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, water, cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable shoes such as hiking shoes and always keep a windproof jacket in your backpack.

    SPECIAL RATES:
    - Children with the age of 10 and younger will have a discount of 5$.
    - Children/ Teenagers between the age of 11 and 18 will have a discount of 4$.
    - University students will have a discount of 3$ provided that they present their university card.
    - Groups with 5 to 9 persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 2$ discount.
    - Groups with 10 or more persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 3$ discount.

    PAYMENT TERMS:
    - Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price.
    - Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra 2$.
    (e.g. Cancelling or booking for a Sunday’s event on Saturday will be subject to the above terms).

    ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS
    - Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event
    - Always follow the guide on the designated trail
    - Do not go off road without notifying the guide
    - Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so
    - Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member
    - Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.
